In 1997, the U.S. National Institute of Health (NIH) documented and publicized acupuncture’s safety and efficacy in treating many health conditions. Acupuncture uses the body’s own abilities to heal, treat pain and inflammation. Acupuncture promotes the body's natural self-healing process by stimulating specific anatomic sites called acupuncture points. When an acupuncture needle is inserted, it causes a very small trauma which initiates healing reactions. There is improved blood circulation to the tissues and many good chemicals are released. Toxins are eliminated from the area because of the better blood flow. Acupuncture encourages nerve stimulation and communication with other nerves, the spinal cord and the brain. Brain chemicals are released such as dopamine and serotonin inducing a sensation of well being in the patient. Natural pain killers made by the body are also released which will decrease pain.
We know from years of research that acupuncture is very effective to treat specific diseases in humans. It works as well for pets.
Since pets do not understand acupuncture, there is no placebo effect.
We offer: dry needle acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, laser acupuncture.
